What About VAT?

VATabout is an independent publication covering VAT, GST, and indirect tax compliance worldwide. We report legislation, rulings, e-invoicing mandates, and cross-border VAT rules for the professionals who deal with them – compliance managers, indirect tax advisors, and in-house tax teams.

We started because indirect tax information is scattered. Tax authorities publish in their own languages on their own timelines. The Big Four write for their own clients. Most of what's left is marketing. VATabout brings it into one place: what changed, where, and what it means in practice.

What We Publish

Our content is curated into three distinct collections to cater to a wide range of needs:

• News – legislation, rulings, and policy changes as they land. Around 50 articles a month.
• Overviews – deeper guides on how systems work. VAT registration, place of supply, digital services, reverse charge.
• Country guides – 120+ jurisdictions, from Germany to Chad, kept current rather than written once and abandoned.
• Tools – the E-Invoicing & ViDA Mandate Tracker covers 36 countries' mandates, deadlines, and formats. Plus VAT calculators and a VAT number checker.

Who Writes It

Our contributors are working tax professionals – VAT attorneys, indirect tax directors, e-invoicing specialists, tax lawyers, and consultants across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. They write about the jurisdictions they practise in.
