Poland Releases Final KSeF 2.0 Updates and API Specs
Featured VAT Advisors

After confirming the previously determined implementation timeline for KSeF on March 31, 2025, the Polish Ministry of Finance published several essential legal and technical documents, including the KSeF 2.0 API documentation and the FA_VAT(3) schema on ePUAP, at the end of June and beginning of July 2025. Additionally, the Ministry of Finance releases guidelines covering QR codes, offline modes, and KSeF certificates.

Main KSeF Technical and Legal Updates

The final FA_VAT(3) schema, which was developed after a series of public consultations with businesses and other stakeholders, will replace the current FA_VAT(2) version on February 1, 2026. The new version includes updates to code formats, schema variants, and data types, allowing dates from the year 1990. New features will enable the submission of attachments with e-invoices, as well as the introduction of new identification markers.

New API documentation enables integrators to prepare for testing the KSeF 2.0 TEST environment, which will be available from September 30, 2025. The released documentation for the new version of the KSeF 2.0 system includes an API specification in OpenAPI 3.0.4 (JSON) format, along with interactive documentation that lists endpoints, parameters, schemas, response codes, and example calls. Additionally, it features the KSeF 2.0 integrator guide, which provides API usage scenarios and a summary of key KSeF 2.0 features..

One of the main questions raised by the businesses concerns the offline modes, QR codes, and KSeF certificates. Therefore, the Ministry of Finance addressed these questions and raised concerns by providing necessary information on the dedicated KSeF 2.0 information pages.

As stated, there will be four offline modes available, along with two types of QR codes. Regarding the KSeF certificates, the Ministry of Finance has clarified who will be eligible to obtain them and outlined the application process.

Conclusion

According to the Ministry of Finance, all the proposed technical and legal updates are under review in the Lower House of Parliament, and it is expected to be officially adopted and enacted by the end of July 2025. The steps taken by the Ministry of Finance are necessary to ensure a smooth transition to the KSeF. Therefore, taxable persons and solution developers should continue to monitor for further announcements by the Ministry.
